 Organized hands on Chemistry programme in laboratory for college students on 19/04/2023. In this programme I demonstrate the various chemical reactions in chemistry and then students try to do it.

Online Workshop

Department has organized an online workshop on “Effective Pedagogical Tools & Techniques for Improved Learning Outcomes”on 11 May 2022. Resource person for this workshop was Dr. Neeraja Dashputre, Principal Technical Officer (Education), IISER Pune. 128 Participants were registered for the workshop. Dr. Neeraja interacts with participants and teach about effective pedagogical tools and techniquies like- inquiry based learning problem based learning, hands on learning, students involvement, simulations like PhET & CT-STEM and many more techniques.

Quiz Competition

 Students of B.Sc. I year participated in Intercollegiate Chem. Quiz Competition organized by Shri Shivaji Science & Arts College, Chikhli and Amravati University Chemistry Teachers' Association (AUCTA), Amravati, on 29/04/2022. 

Dr. K.N. Puri, Secretary of AUCTA and Dr. S. V. Kolhe Vice President AUCTA were present as cheif guest for the competition. Dr. R.T. Parihar and Mr. P. M. Kadam were present as a Jury member for the competiton.

Department has conducted General Aptitude Test (GAT- 2022) organized by Amravati University Chemistry Teachers' Association (AUCTA) on 28/04/2022.

Department has organized a webinar on "Strategies to crack competitive exam after B.Sc. in Chemical Science" on 25/03/2022.

 Mr. Hitesh Chugh of IFAS Pune delivered a lecture on career in chemical science after graduation and strategies to crack various competitive exams. Dr. S. D. Chavan, IQAC co-ordinator of college delivered presidential speech. Student got very useful information from this session.

Bharat Ratna Prof. CNR Rao

Bharat Ratna Prof. CNR Rao wins International Eni Award 2020, equivalent to Nobel in Energy Research.

The 86-year-old Prof. CNR Rao will receive this honour, which includes a cash prize and a specially minted gold medal, during an official ceremony at Quirinal Palace, Rome on 14 October 2021. 

He is awarded for his research on renewable energy sources and energy storage. His work on metal oxides, carbon nanotubes and other materials and two-dimensional systems, including graphene, boron-nitrogen-carbon hybrid materials and molybdenum sulfide for energy applications and green hydrogen production. The same or related materials have also been shown to have beneficial properties for constructing hydrogen storage systems and supercapacitors with high specific power and an increased number of charge-discharge cycles. The latter are energy storage devices, similar to batteries, which will become an increasingly important part of the renewable energy sector.
